Vintage Spokane Set for June 5, 2011

The first annual Vintage Spokane wine event is set for June 5, 2011 at the Lincoln Center in Spokane, WA. Vintage Spokane is intended to be the replacement event for Taste Washington, which was canceled by the Washington Wine Commission (WWC) after several successful years at The Davenport Hotel. Vintage Spokane is organized by the same promoters of the Taste Washington event, Varsity Communication. Varsity Communication organizes many WWC events including Taste Washington Seattle, 20 Something and more.

Vintage Spokane will be held at the beautiful Lincoln Center events facility and promises to have 75 Washington Wineries and 20 local eateries represented. This number is a slight departure from last year’s 100+ winery participants. While we are sad to see the event leave the elegant Davenport Hotel, we will not miss the smaller crowded rooms. While smaller, The Lincoln Center space offers two open areas which will help with the overall flow of the event.

Ticket prices are not currently available on the web site and the site currently shows 17 participating wineries and 0 participating restaurants. With the event only 6 weeks away, look for a major PR and marketing push to make it a success. New this year is the support of a local charity. A portion of the proceeds of the event will benefit Hospice of Spokane.

Visit their web site at VintageSpokane.com and follow them on Twitter @vintagespokane and on Facebook.

UPDATE:

Spokane Wine Magazine connected with the people at Vintage Spokane and have learned that ticket prices are on sale for $60 and are available online through their web site and at Arbor Crest, Latah Creek, Nectar Tasting Room, and a few other select location. The winery list continues to grow and as of 5/10 there are 30+ wineries participating and several restaurants and local caterers. It looks like the event is shaping up to be a fun one that you won’t want to miss!

*Look for Spokane Wine Magazine at the event as a media sponsor.
