Spokane’s Taste Washington Calls It Quits

BREAKING NEWS: It has just been learned that the Taste Washington Event, held annually at The Davenport Hotel will no longer be held. After nine years of showcasing the state’s finest, the Washington Wine Commission has chosen to discontinue the successful event in Spokane.

In order to dedicate the budget and time necessary to carry out this expanded local marketing initiative, the Commission will no longer produce a Taste Washington! event in Spokane.  Over the past nine years, Taste Washington! Spokane has generated greater awareness of Washington State wines in the Inland Northwest, even spawning several other successful local wine events, and the Commission believes that there is abundant opportunity to achieve similarly positive results year-round and throughout the entire region.

Marketing efforts are under way to gain brand recognition through other regional and localized events. More information will be communicated shortly.

Taste Washington! Spokane has been a signature event for exposing Spokane to all that Washington has to offer in the way of wine and food. As the event grew it moved into the majestic Davenport Hotel and provided a luxurious way to sample wine. The announcement comes as a surprise with the success of the 2010 event where ticket sales and attendance were up.

Spokane Wine Magazine will continue to provide you information as it becomes available. In the meantime, stay tuned here for all your local wine news and information as we move forward with the launch of Spokane’s first print magazine dedicated to the regional wine scene.
